Our Pram Cleaning Process - Step by step

1. Comprehensive Initial Inspection

Our service begins with a meticulous inspection of your pram to assess its overall condition. We examine for visible stains, sticky residues, fabric wear, deep-seated grime, and any signs of mold or mildew. We also check mechanical components like the folding mechanism and wheel function. Each pram is different — we take note of material types, colorfastness, and special care instructions to tailor our cleaning process. All removable fabrics, harnesses, and padding are stripped from the frame in preparation for cleaning.

2. Thorough Vacuuming & Debris Extraction

Before applying any moisture, we perform a detailed vacuuming using specialized nozzles to remove all dry debris. This includes crumbs, pet hair, sand, dust, and tiny particles that often collect in seams and under cushions. We pay special attention to high-traffic areas such as the seat base, footrest, hood folds, undercarriage storage basket, and hinge joints to ensure no hidden debris remains.

3. Deep Cleaning with Gentle, Baby-Safe Solutions

We clean all fabric and soft components using carefully chosen, non-toxic, baby-safe cleaning agents. These solutions effectively break down and lift common stains like food, milk spills, mud, or sweat, while being gentle enough for newborns and children with sensitive skin. Heavily soiled or stained areas receive extra spot treatment using soft brushes and microfiber cloths to loosen buildup without damaging delicate fibers.

4. High-Temperature Steam Sanitisation

Once the fabrics and surfaces are pre-treated, we use commercial-grade steam cleaners to sanitize the entire pram — including fabrics, harnesses, and even crevices in the frame. The high-temperature steam kills 99.9% of bacteria, viruses, and allergens without the need for harsh chemicals. This step ensures the pram is not only visibly clean but hygienically safe for your baby.

5. Moisture & Residue Extraction with Wet Vacuum

Following steam cleaning, we use a powerful wet vacuum to extract moisture, loosened dirt, and residual grime from all surfaces. This process is repeated as needed, especially on absorbent fabrics, until the extracted water runs significantly clearer. This step also reduces drying time and prevents mold or mildew from developing post-cleaning.

6. Detailed Frame, Wheel & Hardware Cleaning

The pram frame, wheels, and all plastic or metal components are cleaned and polished using appropriate tools and cleaning products. We remove mud, scuff marks, sticky residue and rust spots and where possible. Wheels are scrubbed and degreased, and we check for trapped stones or debris in the axle area. Scratches are buffed gently to improve appearance, aiming to restore the pram to a “like new” condition.

7. Controlled Drying & Final Assembly

Once all components are clean, the pram is allowed to air-dry in a controlled, dust-free environment. We ensure every part — from the padding to the joints — is completely dry to avoid mildew. After drying, we reassemble the pram with great care, checking that all straps, clips, and joints are properly secured. A final inspection ensures everything is spotless, fresh, and fully sanitised — ready for your little one’s next adventure.
